Goal of Website: Showcase Zennovation's programs and blog, and serve as an easy way to book a talk or workshop.
Brand Personality: Playful, Knowledgeable, Storyteller
Logo
Bob practices Zen Buddhism, and wanted to bring elements of that into the brand. We built the logo around the calligraphic ensō and used red, black, and white as our main colors to do this. The candle enclosed by the light bulb symbolizes innovation in the literal sense, the evolution from flame to electricity, as well as the metaphorical "light bulb in your brain" moment that is used to describe having a sudden bright idea.

Speeches and Workshops
Each of the Zennovation Network talks and workshops has its own color palette,”show poster,” and marketing one sheet. Some of these are still in the works or are being updated as the products themselves get updated.
Zennovating!
The Zennovating! poster uses the candle light-bulb imagery from the logo, and features nods to Bob's Disney background in the shades of red, yellow, and white (see Mickey's pants, shoes, and gloves).
Early Sketches with Original Talk Name
Restorying
Features imagery of change as result of storytelling in the color shift and juxtaposition of rectilinear and curvilinear shapes. Unique Storybot character can be used in place of existing robot stock image used in talks.
Character Studies and early designs
Waking Up a Lazy Brand
Features bright warm colors, spiky shapes, and coffee cup image meant to visually "wake up" the viewer. Art style meant to resemble a comic book with thick lines, spiky bubble, and dot patterns.
Early Eye Design and alternate version with splashing coffee
Tails of Mouse and Men
Two chairs and hats show that this is a speech presented by two people, and combined with the setting create an atmosphere of “telling stories around the fire.” References to Disney and entertainment background are featured in the in director's chairs, Mickey hats, constellation castle, and palm tree leaf (representing both Florida and California).
Marketing one-sheet using a deconstructed mickey face and imagery from the poster
Becoming Unboxed
The poster for this workshop is designed in the style of a playbill, I traced a photo of the three people giving the workshop and put them “onstage” in the middle of a collection of boxes. The dots in background are meant to be reminiscent of patterns made by gobos used in stage lighting.
Alternate Designs
Show Up, Create, and Serve
A lot of different avenues were explored with this design, but we settled on invitation imagery, effectively inviting audiences to “show up,create, and serve.” Purple was requested as the major color in this poster, and I decided to use exclusively shades of purple with the exception of the envelope, to make it pop.
